We are one week away from the Mountain Run and everything is ready to go.  For some unknown reason a rumor has been circulating that the run had been cancelled.  This is not true in any way.  The mountain run is ready to go on time and on schedule.  This is going to be a great time for all. Well the stage is set for the Ultimate Rock n Roll Ridin Party, the Funds For Freedom "7th Annual Veterans Mountain Run sponsored by BUDWEISER". Once again the event will support the Bakersfield National Cemetery Memorial Walkway. 2010 is the biggest line-up of entertainment F3 has ever assembled and will absolutely Rock your socks off.

 

This year the gate will open on Friday June 25th at 2:00pm. Giving all tent campers the time to pick their locations and get set-up before the weekend party kicks off at 5:00pm. The Ultimate Rock & Roll Party will be a night of crankin bands that no one will want to miss as two great guitarist will sit in with each other. Opening is the ROBY DURON BAND which is a homecoming as Roby led the very first band to play at our Mountain Run 7 years ago. As F3 gets back to their roots it’s perfect that Roby opens the event. Friday will be a string bending night like no other. The Roby Duron Band is an L..A. based Rock and Roll band that plays a mix of great rock and blues music influenced by 60's, 70's and 80's.


At 8:00pm the great rock and blues of CHEAP SUNGLASSES featuring former Megadeth and Frank Zappa Lead guitarist Mike Albert. Noone has the guitar playin fingers like Mike Albert, he will amaze you with his string bending action. When Mike takes a break from his own metal band 'Mike Albert Project' he is the featured guitarist with Cheap Sunglasses tribute to ZZtop and great blues songs. They are sure to blow the top off the 2010 Veterans Mountain Run Friday night Pre-party.  


Cheap Sunglasses will take 9:00 break for this years MONSTER ENERGY Miss Mountain Run T-shirt Contest. Armed with a Monster Energy t-shirt and a pair of scissors, ladies will design their own creations and take the stage to show them off  for braggin’ rights and $300 cash.


Saturday will kick off at 8:00am when the gates open for the MONAGHAN MOTORSPORTS 169 mile scenic poker run through the beautiful Kern Co. mountains with a $500 High Hand Payout. Kick stands will go up at 10:00am following the National Anthem and a fly-by of two Vietnam Service Bell UH-1H (Huey) helicopters operated by the Kern County Fire Department.


REIGN will kick off the Saturday lineup at 2:00pm as they set the party mood on it's head with thier high energy sound. This Southern California Classic Rock band is the best you will find as the play all your favorite old and new classic hits. Simply said “ REIGN absolutely Kicks Ass”


At 2:00 check-in will start for this years display of the best bikes ridden on this years Mountain Run as the SGT. MARVIN SPRAYBERRY III MEMORIAL presents this year’s Ride-in Bike Show. Judging will begin at 4:00pm so be sure and enjoy the ride and get your bike lined up for braggin’ rights.


There is a history, a legacy and a brotherhood that comprise the soul of the America Biker. Those are the same elements that make up The CHARLIE BRECHTEL BAND. At 5:00pm Charlie will take us into a world that began in America's post WWII years, screamed through the 50s and 60s and has evolved into one of the most powerful and envied sub-cultures that this country has ever produced. His music pays homage to the biker lifestyle in a way that no other musician has ever done. Charlie Brechtel weaves the personalities who pioneered this way of life into the heart of all of his songs. 


Veterans Mountain Run regulars will always remember the ever popular JOE WALLA BAND.  aka Reverend J. Wicked III will be back again at 8:00pm bangin' the strings with his American Rock and Roll. Joe has been leveling venues all over Southern California with his explosive sound and has developed a huge and rabid following here at the Mountain Run. Look for Joe to jump into the crowd and entertain the crowd. Also look for an appearance on stage by the Ms. Mountain Run girls. Joe's amazing guitar work and unique whiskey voice have garnered much critical praise and numerous awards.


Free Tent Camping all weekend is available but if you can not live without your blow dryer and curling iron, La QUINTA INN & SUITES is offering event room rates for Mountain Run participants you can reserve your room by calling 661-823-8000. If  RV’ing is your choice next to the event entry is the Tehachapi Trail’s End Park, contact them at 661-822-3697. For all the Hotel guests in Tehachapi a shuttle bus is also available. So if your going to enjoy a few ice cold Budweisers or other drinks take advantage of this free transportation.

Great News, the Veterans Mountain Run 7 is welcoming LaQuita Inn & Suites as the Host Hotel for this year's event. As a sponsor for this year's run they will be offering reduced rates for rooms. F3 is once again bringing back "Tehachapi's Original Motorcycle Run" May 22nd, 2010. Cabooty Run 8 will once again bring out our family and friends to support the Tehachapi Pregnancy Life Center. The Cabooty Run has long been the start of summer for local riders. This year F3 is putting the Booty in the Cabooty Run so bring out your favorite Booty and ride the Tehachapi and Antelope Valley with stops at The Rock Inn, the new Schooner's, The ever popular Zebra and Tehachapi's South Fork Inn. The Red Caboose is of course the host of the Cabooty Run and will shake the afternoon with the Rockin' sounds of Chemestry. Sign-ups start at 9:00a, Rollin' out at 10:00a and Rockin' 3:00-7:00pm. T-shirt, Poker card and Raffle tickets are included with your sign-up. So get your Booty to the Caboose and Rock this May.

Antelope Valley Harley-Davidson has been with the Veterans Mountain Run since the beginning and once again F3 is proud to announce that they will be back as the Run Pin sponsor for 2010. AVHD located in Lancaster, CA has been a strong supporter F3 and Bakersfield National Cemetery Memorial Walkway since the first Mountain Run in 2004. Together F3 and it's dedicated sponsors move forward as the Memorial Walkway is in the design stage. Renderings of the design should be available before this years event for everyone to see just how the Walkway will look. Thanks to everyone at AVHD for their continued support in this worthy cause.


 Also this years Ride-in Bike Show will see a new sponsor, although the story of Sgt. Marvin Sprayberry III is not a new one his legacy as a local hero will live on in this years Sgt. Marvin Sprayberry III Memorial Bike Show. The Sprayberry family have been supporters of F3 since the very first Mountain Run which we presented his mom Lynn with a dedication to Sgt. Sprayberry. F3 is proud to continue it's support of our fallen heroes and this years Memorial Bike Show is a testament to that support our volunteers and riders have given.

Budweiser has been with Funds For Freedom since the beginning of the VMR and will continue it's second year as the events Title Sponsor.  The event raises funds for the construction of the Bakersfield National Cemetery Memorial Walkway as Budweiser is proud to continue their support of our nation's heroes.

 

The Veterans Mountain Run will now have Monster Energy as the Sponsor of the Ms. Mountain Run T-shirt Contest. The contest which allows the ladies to cut and design their own Monster T-shirts will again bring some beauty to Friday night as the ladies compete for braggin rights along with $300 cash and prizes. Monster will be the Energy drink and drink mix of choice at the VMR7.
